Burn calories at your desk

So many of us spend most of their day at a desk without even realizing it. With the increase of online meetings and conferences, the number of hours per day is just increasing. The good news is that there are plenty of ways that you can burn calories at your desk! Try to implement as many as you can into your daily routine and the results won't disappoint.


Tap your toes

While sitting at your desk, you can start out by tapping your toes while keeping your heels on the ground. This exercise doesn't burn an immense amount of calories but if you keep doing it several times a day then the calories burnt will keep stacking up. 


Seated calf raises

By raising your calves not only would you be burning calories effortlessly but you would also be toning your legs. If you’re not familiar with calf raises, all you have to do is place your feet on the ground and lift your heels while keeping your toes on the ground. 


Switch your office chair for an exercise ball

Who says you have to work on a chair? You can do it on an exercise ball! This would help you burn calories as you would be balancing yourself on the ball and maintaining good posture at the same time. Get yours through and have it delivered to your doorstep or even to your office. 


Engage your glutes

You can engage and disengage your glutes while sitting at your desk. In order to get better results, engage then hold for five seconds then release and keep on repeating it as much as you can. 



Try to take a small break every hour, just for 2-3 minutes. Stand up and move around. If you have some phone calls to make, then make them while you're walking around. These changes may seem small but they will make you burn more and more calories.
